Washington State’s Christmas Tree to the Country

A gift from “our” Washington to the “other” Washington takes center stage this week when the Capitol Christmas tree is lit.

This year’s tree, “A Gift from the Evergreen State,” is 65-feet tall and features over 10,000 lights and 3,000 ornaments made by school kids around the state.

Location:  The tree is located on the west lawn, in front of the U.S. Capitol building.

Lighting ceremony:  Wednesday, December 6th, 5 pm.  The tree will remain lit through the holiday season from dusk until 11 pm.

If you’re going to be in the east coast Washington, be sure to stop by and take a look at our gift to the country.
