Free Snowshoe Tours in Leavenworth
If you want to take advantage of Washington’s snow activities, consider a Winter Ecology Tour in Leavenworth. The tour has a fun aspect – it’s on snowshoes.
The tours, offered by the U.S. Forest Service, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Nasikelt River Discovery Center, are an opportunity to explore winter life with a trained naturalist. The tours start at the Icicle River Ski Trail ticket booth, and are limited to a maximum of 12 people. All participants must be over eight years of age. The Leavenworth National Fish Hatchery is located about 118 miles east of Seattle.
Snowshoes are provide, all you have to do is bundle up.
Location: Leavenworth National Fish Hatchery, 12790 Fish Hatchery Road, Leavenworth (about one mile from downtown).
Times: 10 am – Noon, Saturdays and Sundays in January
