Multiple Music Options Available at Seattle’s Triple Door

When you’re in Seattle, you’ve got to make time to hear some great music.

Listen to Music at Seattle's Triple DoorThere are lots of venue options to choose from, but I’d strongly recommend fitting in an evening at the Triple Door.  It’s located beneath Wild Ginger restaurant, and across from Benaroya Hall, and offers a couple of options within the same building:  Mainstage and Musicquarium!

Mainstage:  This premium venue was once the Embassy Theatre.  It has now been restored and updated to seat 300-plus people in a modern, acoustically advanced performance room.  The room features classic touches in decor (the gold-framed, red-curtained stage), but solidly modern seating (tables and semi-circle booths) arranged in tiers.  This intimate setting means that even the table farthest back is still only about 75 feet from the stage.  Dinner service is provided by Wild Ginger, along with full bar service, but there is no food or beverage purchase required.

Children are welcome at all early show times.  All shows at 9 pm or later are 21 and over only.

Seating is Festival Style (first come, first seated), and begins two hours prior to show time for early shows.  Late shows (9 pm and later) have assigned seating based on the order that tickets are purchase.  Seating begins one hour prior to show time for late shows.  You can find the Triple Door’s Mainstage calendar of events here.

Musicquarium:  If it sounds like the word aquarium, it’s no coincidence, as the room gets its name from the 1900-gallon freshwater aquarium located just inside the entrance.  Musicquarium is a self-contained lounge, seating 150 people, and has seating in tables as well as a stand up bar.  Music is featured most nights (live or DJ), even when there is a show on the Mainstage.  You’ll find the Musicquarium schedule here

Musicquarium is open for lunch Monday – Friday, 11:30 am – 3 pm, and also provides orders to go.  Happy hour offerings are seven days a week, 4 –6 pm, and 10 pm – midnight.

Location:  216 Union Street (Downtown)

Tickets:  Prices vary, and can be purchased online (select show on the event calendar), by phone at (206) 838-4333, or at the box office.  Paper tickets are not issued; your name is placed on the guest list, and when you arrive, check in with the Front Desk.
