Seattle Home Show, February 17-25th

2007 Seattle Home Show at Qwest FieldThere are still a few more days left to wander through the over 600 exhibitor booths at the 63rd Annual Seattle Home Show.

With the theme, “Better Idea Show,” you’re sure to find lots of ideas for home improvement, décor, landscaping, and other design ideas.  Having been through the building of two homes, I devoured information and ideas that I found at previous shows.  While not everything was my style, or within my budget, I gathered lots of information and ideas, and was then able to make informed purchases when the time came.  Besides that – it’s fun to dream a little sometimes.

The show promises to have a balance between lifestyle and substantive information, as it tries to cover a wide range of home living – condos, homes, second homes, vacation properties, etc.

Back again this year is Idea Street – a collection of full-scale, walk-through, model homes.  These are spectacular examples, and are sure to stimulate a lot of ideas.  The largest one is a 3,600 square foot Timberland Home, the largest model home ever displayed at the show.

Even if you’re not looking to build, buy, or remodel a home, there’s lots of practical information on how to shape up your home for a natural disaster or weather related problem.  After the windstorms and snows of this winter, I’m sure those booths will be getting lots of visitors.

What else will you find at the Seattle Home Show?

How about:  kitchen and bath ideas, outdoor living style and design, emergency preparedness, technology, party rooms, tools, arts and crafts, home decorating, and the list could and does go on for pages.

A list of the seminars offered at the Seattle Home Show can be found online, and you can use this guide to plan out how you wish to tour the show.  I always started at one end and started walking.
