Baby Loves Disco — Mommy & Daddy, Too
If you couldn’t understand Disco, I’m not sure you’re going to understand this either, but Baby Loves Disco is apparently turning in a whole new generation into the Disco Craze of the 70’s.
Baby Loves Disco is like a nightclub play date for toddlers pre-schoolers, and their parents, who are looing for an afternoon of fun. It’s real disco music — 70’s and 80’s tunes — spun by a DJ, with atmosphere of bubbles, a disco ball, and assorted other dance props. The music is designed to get you off you bootie and shaking your groove thing! There’s also a chill-out room if you need a break, with quiet activities, and a diaper changing station. Healthy snacks are provided. Children aged 6 months through 7 years are welcome at Baby Loves Disco, although the activities that will appeal to them will vary based upon their age.
The concept originated in Philadelphia , when a mom, and professional dancer, was looking for an alterntive play activitiy that she could do with her son. The monthly event was an immediate sell out, and the the concept grew from there. Currently, Baby Loves Disco is located in over 16 cities, and is operated in each city by like-minded parents.
The dance session last 3 hours, and you are free to come and go as meets your individual schedule. Come when it best fits your child’s naptime, mealtime, and your family schedule. It’s a rare child who can last through and enjoy the entire 3 hour session. Free coat/diaper bag check is availale.
The party location recently moved to Club Heaven in the Pioneer Square area, resulting in a lot more space. Nonetheless, the event sells out regularly, so make reservations early. There are convenient parking lots nearby.
Location: Club Heaven, 172 South Washington Street (Pioneer Square)
Date & Time: Monthly, on the third Saturday. 1 – 4 pm.
Tickets: $12 for all walking humans. Non-walkers are free. Tickets are available through the Baby Loves Disco – Seattle website.
NOTE: The April 21 dance party is already sold out, so make plans for May 19th and future months.

This is so cool! I just wish they’d had these when my kids were smaller.
I checked and there is one in San Diego now, so I’ll be sure to do an article on it to get the word out. I love it.
Thanks!
