Photo Op: Rachel, the Bronze Pig, at the Pike Place Market

Details: Rachel, the mascot of the Pike Place Market, stands beneath the main “Public Market Center” sign.
Rachel is popular with the kids who climb all over her, and is quite photogenic — frequently appearing in travel photos. She weighs in at 550 pounds, and is a working piggybank. The funds collected from Rachel are used by the Market Foundation for various social services. When you drop in some money, it’s customary to rub Rachel’s snout for good luck.
