Seattle Sounders Sound Off in Home Opener May 5th
The Seattle Sounders kick off their 2007 regular season home schedule on May 5th against the arch rival, Portland Timbers. After a pre-season start that saw them with three wins, and included a match in Puerto Rico, the Sounders are ready to thrill their fans
The “original” Sounders team played in Seattle from 1974-83 as part of the North American Soccer League. The current team was formed in 1994, taking the name from the former, and plays in the USL First Division.
With three championships to boast of, the Sounders are an exciting team to watch. And a home opener against one of the team’s two archrivals (the other is the Vancouver Whitecaps), it should be a great way to spend your Cinco de Mayo.
Location: Most, but not all, Sounders games are played at Qwest Field. Check the schedule, though, as some are played in Kent and Tacoma.
Date and Time: Seasoner Opener, May 5th at 7 pm. Check schedule for additional matches.
Tickets: $13 for general admission, $18 for reserved seating, available through Ticketmaster. Season tickets and packages are also available, and reasonably priced.
