Spend Memorial Day Weekend on the Washington Wine Highway

red wineStill looking for something to do over the upcoming Memorial Day weekend? How about virtual road trip along the Washington Wine Highway?

You don’t drive this highway — you walk it. Without ever leaving the ground of Chateau Ste. Michelle in Woodinville, you can make the virtual trek between Woodinville and Walla Walla. Along the way, you’ll encounter the five wine regions of the state (Puget Sound Region, Columbia Valley, Walla Walla and Yakima Valley and Red Mountain), and have the opportunity to taste food and wine as you go.

The two-day event is a combination of food, wine, and tourism, and gives visitors a chance to experience what the various communities have to offer. You can even consider it a little travel planning, as Visitor Bureaus and travel companies will be available to share history and information aboaut travel within their region.

And how could I forget? There’s lots of food and wine tasting, with experts on hand to help you learn what you like and why. Think of it as an opportunity to discover a new favorite wine. . . or two.

General Admission includes an event tote and tasting glass, Washington Wine Map, Wine Highway Catalogue, and scrip tickets to cover 12 food tastings and 8 wine tastings. Additional tastes may be purchased at the event. There’s an impressive array of wineries and restaurants participating.
