Breakfast at Tiffany’s & a Movie at Lake Union
Enjoy Breakfast at Tiffany’s beneath the stars with the summer’s first Cinema on the Lawn film.
Watch beautiful Audrey Hepburn as quirky, and deeply neurotic, Holly Golightly and she flit through life and love. George Peppard plays her neighbor Paul Varjak, and the two of them ignite some very serious on-screen chemistry. You’ll have to watch the movie to see if he gets the girl.
The 1961 movie was directed by Blake Edwards, and was based on a novel by Truman Capote. Henry Mancini won two Oscars for his music: “Moon River” for Original Song and Best Score of a Dramatic or Comedy film.
Bring a blanket and a picnic, and don’t forget the popcorn. Low back chairs only, though, and no outside alcoholic beverages permitted.
Location: Lawn behind the South Lake Union Discovery Center (Denny & Westlake Avenue).
Date & Time: Friday, June 29th. Festivities start at 7 pm (beer garden and food stands open). Movie starts 30 minutes after dusk. Future dates: July 13th, 27th, and August 10th.
Admission: $5 suggested donation, with proceeds going to benefit KEXP, KUOW and the Seattle International Film Festival.
I LOVE this movie! I’ve been watching the trailer over and over.
