It’s been awhile since I read the book The Kite Runner, but I remember how terribly moved I was by it. It captured by interest from the very first page. It tells the story of an Afghan boy, told from his point of view, and the relationships he has with his family and friends.

The musical review, Smokey Joe’s Cafe, returns to the city that gave it a start, with performances at Dimitriou’s Jazz Alley June 12-17th.
Smokey Joe’s got it start in 1990 at Seattle’s now defunct Empty Space Theater, as an intimate cabaret show. After spending time at Empty Space, the revue went on to have great success [...]

I’ll admit it, I LOVE food!
So it’s with great excitement that I share with you the current theme day for the b5media Travel & Culture bloggers. The theme — Food!
Read about a number of delicious choices, one that seems rather, uh. . . questionable, and ponder the politics of food. It’s a great round up [...]

Seattle speeders — slow down! Cause if you don’t, it’s going to cost you an additional $10 per violation (effective July 1st).
While part of the reason for the increase in the fee for a speeding ticket is to help provide an incentive for law abiding behavior, thereby avoiding high risk driving habits, the additional revenue [...]

I love going to Woodland Park Zoo today, almost as much as I loved going as a kid.
The zoo has changed a lot. No more “keys” that you use to turn on an information recording. No more feeding the bears marshmallows or peanuts. No more small glass cages for BoBo the gorilla.
And while I’ve changed [...]
