Seattle Notables Spotted Around Town

Seattle Notables Spotted Around Town

If you want to know where the famous or infamous hang out in Seattle, or maybe where you’ll find the quirky personalities this city offers up, Seattle Notables will become regular reading.
In an experiment by Belltown’s  gallery/event space McLeod Residence, the website posts photos of area celebrities doing average, ordinary, every day kind of things.
There’s a map that shows where people have been recently spotted, along with individual pages for every “notable” and every “notable location.”  This allows you to search out where your favorite notable has been spotted, or to search by who has been spotted at your favorite …read more

Seattle Ghostbusters: Spooked in Seattle

Seattle Ghostbusters: Spooked in Seattle

Seattle has its own Ghostbusters, or paranormal investigators, who investigate paranormal claims with scientific methodology.  A.G.H.O.S.T., which stands for Advanced Ghost Hunters of Seattle-Tacoma, seek to explain the theories about ghost hunting and haunted locations, reporting on ghost sightings and other events, and sponsoring ghost hunting club activities.
A.G.H.O.S.T. also offers year round Ghost Tours of Seattle, and what better time to experience a tour than during the Halloween Season.  Spooked in Seattle tours are offered in various parts of the city, and give you an opportunity to explore Seattle’s haunted history with a real ghost hunter as your guide.  Guides will share …read more

Find Your Grail in Spamalot

Find Your Grail in Spamalot

Last night I saw Monty Python’s Spamalot at the Paramount Theater, and if you haven’t finalized your plans for the weekend, I recommend that you move this to the top of your list.
I’m not a huge Monty Python fan (translation:  I can’t repeat all the lines of the movie), so I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to follow along and appreciate this “lovingly ripped off” story based on the movie Monty Python and the Holy Grail.  I needn’t have worried, as the performance provided plenty of laughs and entertainment to engage the audience – even if you had never …read more

Click-It or Ticket Patrol

Click-It or Ticket Patrol

The Washington State Patrol has announced a special patrol emphasis on seatbelt use.
I’m a big proponent of seatbelt use — and here in Washington State, it’s the law.  Through November 6th, the State Patrol will be placing special emphasis on compliance, and will be ticket violators.
Buckle up out there, or run the risk of a ticket.

Carnival of Cities with Old Friends & New

Carnival of Cities with Old Friends & New

Another week spent with old friends and new and the Carnival of Cities.  This week’s edition was hosted by Anthony at The Lives and Times.
If you take a read through this week’s participants, you’ll find a variety of topics covered, all of them related to some aspect of a particular city.
In keeping with my tradition — and I love to set my own traditions – I choose my favorite every week.  As a life long resident of Seattle, I’m pretty proud of this city.  But I love reading bloggers who are just as proud of their city.
This week, my favorite …read more

Caramel Apples for Fall

Caramel Apples for Fall

While I’ll be buying mini-sized candy bars for the trick-or-treaters in my neighborhood, I occasionally like to indulge in some adult trick-or-treat candy.
And, to be honest, it’s not just about trick or treat.  While you can certainly make them any time of year, Fall is the time that I think about caramel apples.
One of my favorite Seattle choices for them is Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory.  The company is based in Durango, Colorado, and has stores across the U.S. and Canada, producing over 300 varieties of candies, most of which can be ordered online.
Except. . . for the company’s best selling …read more
