Caramel Apples for Fall

caramel apples While I’ll be buying mini-sized candy bars for the trick-or-treaters in my neighborhood, I occasionally like to indulge in some adult trick-or-treat candy.

And, to be honest, it’s not just about trick or treat.  While you can certainly make them any time of year, Fall is the time that I think about caramel apples.

One of my favorite Seattle choices for them is Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory.  The company is based in Durango, Colorado, and has stores across the U.S. and Canada, producing over 300 varieties of candies, most of which can be ordered online.

Except. . . for the company’s best selling item. . . the tasty caramel apples.  The apples are Granny Smiths, providing a crunchy tartness to the sweet caramel.  You can get the apples covered with caramel only, or live on the edge and try one of the variations:  with nuts, chocolate chips, M&M’s, rocky road candy, etc.  My favorite is the caramel with nuts.

Seattle area locations:  North Bend Factory Stores, First Avenue, Northgate Shopping Center, Pioneer Square, and Tulalip.

Other Washington locations:  Burlington Prime Outlet Center, Kennewick, Leavenworth.

Halloween, Fall, or just any time at all.  It’s the perfect time to have a caramel apple.

No locations near me :( That’s ok though; I’ve been thinking of making some homemade. Those are good and fun.

I think Portland or Troutdale may be the closest stores for you, Jennifer.

But homemade is also pretty darned good!
