PNB Presents The Nutcracker

PNB-Nut2 I take my holidays one at a time.  Halloween will be next, followed by Thanksgiving, and then Christmas and New Years.  You won’t see me putting up Christmas decorations before Thanksgiving, even though some local stores are already getting holiday things put out — and it’s only the first of October!

However, there are a couple of exceptions when holiday plans must be taken out of sequence, and one of the exceptions is making plans to see the Pacific Northwest Ballet’s staging of the Nutcracker.

This much-loved holiday story tells of a magical world of a little girl’s dream, and explores the theme of good triumphing over evil.  The story continually blurs the lines between reality and fantasy, and introduces us to wonderfully costumed characters, dancing to beautiful Tchaikovsky music, and choreography set upon a fabulous stage with an incredible set design.

The PNB’s staging of the Nutcracker consists os a company made up of all the dances from its ballet corps, along with students from the Pacific Northwest Ballet School.  And don’t forget that gigantic Mouse King!

Location:  McCaw Hall, 321 Mercer Street, north side of the Seattle Center Campus (map it).   Parking is available at the Mercer Garage, directly across the street, or at various private parking lots throughout the area.

Dates & Times:  November 23rd – December 29th, 2007.  Various times, depending on date.  Check the schedule of performances for more information.

Tickets:  Prices vary based on performance and date, and range from $16 – $115.  Tickets are available online, through Ticketmaster, or by calling the PNB Box Office at (206) 441-2424.

Don’t wait and be disappointed!  This story continues to captivate audiences of all ages, and the performances will sell out.  Whether you live in the Seattle area, or are just planning a holiday visit, you need to make your plans today.
