Two Christmas Options from Seattle Public Theater
Seattle Public Theater presents two holiday performances, from opposite ends of the holiday spectrum, for audiences of all ages, and attitudes about the holidays, to enjoy.
At the irreverent end is David Sedaris’ The Santaland Diaries. It’s a one-man play telling about the experiences of working as an Elf in Macy’s Santaland. Sedaris’ work is witty and unpredictable, as he points out how the Christmas spirit does not always bring out the best in each of us. If you aren’t familiar with Sedaris’ humor, you may want to read one of his books. This performance contains adult humor and is for mature audiences.
The Santaland Diaries runs November 30th – December 24th at various times. Tickets are $24 adults; $20 seniors (65+); $15 youth (under 25).
At the heartwarming end of the spectrum is The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, and the telling of a Christmas Pageant taken over by ragtag group of kids. This performance is suitable for the whole family.
The Best Christmas Pageant Ever runs December 7 – 24th at various times. Tickets are $18.
