What a Load of Crap: The Fall Fecal Fest

Zoo Doo from Woodland Park Zoo Gardening alert!

Zoo Doo is here!  Yep, the semi-annual Fecal Fest when residents vie for the chance to get a load of. . . well, crap from Woodland Park Zoo.  You’ll have a choice between the traditional Zoo Doo or the newly formulated Bedspread with a slightly higher sawdust component.  Whatever your choice, this zoo poop makes some of the richest compost around!

The smelly spread is awarded by lottery, with entries accepted from September 5th through 20th.  Randomly selected entries will then be allocated a load of doo, which can be picked up between October 4 – 19th.

To enter the lottery, send a postcard (limit of one per person) to Zoo Doo, Woodland Park Zoo, 601 North 59th Street, Seattle, WA  98103.  Include your name, a day and evening phone number, which spread you prefer (traditional Zoo Doo or the new Bedspread), the amount you’d like to purchase (anything from a garbage bag full to a full truck load), and whether you’d prefer weekday or weekend pickup.

Location:  Woodland Park Zoo, North 50th & Fremont Avenue North (map it)

Dates:  Drawing entries accepted September 5-20th; pick up scheduled October 4 – 19th.

Price:  Zoo Doo ranges from $4 for a bag to $60 for a pick up truck 8×4 bed.  Bedspread ranges $4 to $50.  Zoo Doo can also be purchased in pre-packaged 2-gallon and 1-pint containers.  They sell for $14.95 and $4.95 respectively.

This event is always a sell out, so act fast!
