Airport Shopping Pacific Northwest Style
The holiday travel season is nearly upon us. Do you have your “I’m a good guest so I brought you this lovely gift” gift with you?
If you find yourself at any of the Pacific Northwest airports and you’ve forgotten to pick something up, all is not lost. You can buy a decent gift, rather than just a crummy souvenir item, at many shops in the airport.
Here’s a starting reference:
At Sea-Tac:
- Ex Officio – All sorts of travel clothing and accessories. I found a great coat there that I’ve packed for many a trip.
- Fireworks – Lots of beautiful and whimsical items made by local artists. Perfect for gifts, and for yourself. I’ve purchased some pretty glass serving ware there that has been a hit.
- Made in Washington – Carries just what its name implies, gifts and food items made here in Washington.
- Vino Volo – Pick up a bottle of wine to take with you, as this shop is inside of the security checkpoint.
At Spokane:
- Simply Northwest – Artwork, food, and wine shop featuring products from the Pacific Northwest. It’s inside of security no worries about picking something up. A great stop in you’re in need of a chocolate fix.
- Auntie’s Books – Features local authors, book about the Pacific Northwest, and those that are set here.
At Portland:
- Made in Oregon – Similar to the Made in Washington Store.
- Pendleton Store – This well-known woolen store offers an assortment of clothing and accessory items.
- Powell’s Books – An airport location of the city’s powerhouse book store, offers a terrific selection of all genres of reading material.
Do you have a favorite airport shop that you’d like to add to the list?
