Holiday Events at Seattle’s Fairmont Olympic Hotel

When it comes to Holiday decorating, the elves at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel are some of the most creative around town.  With events like the Festival of Trees, the Teddy Bear Suite, and the gingerbread display, it you aren’t in the holiday spirit – well, you may just be related to Scrooge!

Fairmont Olympic Hotel Seattle It seems like each year the displays are bigger and better, so here’s a peek at what you can expect this year:

  • Teddy Bear Suite – November 26th – December 26th, 10 am – 7 pm.  A popular holiday stop off for thousands of visitors every holiday season, the suite features teddy bears galore.  A great spot for holiday photos.  FREE, although donations accepted to benefit uncompensated care at Seattle Children’s Hospital.
  • Festival of Trees – November 24th – December 3rd.  Now in it’s 30th year, you can stroll through a veritable forest of beautifully decorated trees, and place a bid on them.  The trees are sold off at auction, with bids starting at $2,500, for later delivery to homes or office.  While that price put them out of the reach of most budgets this year, the stroll through is FREE.
  • Gingerbread Masterpieces – November 25th – December 25th.  Part pastry chefs, part architects, the chefs build an impressive creation every year.  Last year it was the Pike Place Market, and I can’t wait to see what they’ve done this year.  You’ll find it in the main lobby, and it’s another FREE display to enjoy.
  • Holiday Music – December 1st – 19th, noon – 1 pm.  A great lunch hour escape to listen to local school and youth choir singing in the Main Lobby.  FREE.
  • Roasted Chestnuts – December 1st – 19th, weekdays, 11:30 am – 2:30 pm.  Roasted chestnuts served up for $5 a cone.  Staffed by celebrity roasters, proceeds benefit YWCA Angeline’s Day Center for Homeless Women.

The Fairmont Olympic Hotel also serves up yummy Holiday dinners for Christmas Eve, the Christmas Day Festive Feast, and a New Year’s Eve Dinner.
