5 Facts About the State of Washington

Seattle is Washington’s largest city, and Olympia its capital, but what else do you know about my state?  Here are a handful of facts about the Evergreen State:

  1. Population:  Just under six million
  2. Size:  66,511 square miles, the 20th largest state
  3. Time Zone:  Pacific
  4. Driving age:  16 years of age, 17 years of age for unrestricted licenses
  5. Sales tax:  6.5% statewide (with cities and counties allowed to add on), groceries are excluded.
