Are You Considering Seattle’s Urban Living?

by Mary Jo on May 16th, 2007

SEA urban livingI hope you’ve been here reading about Seattle for awhile now. And, maybe the city has started growing on you.

It doesn’t really rain all that much, and when it does, that’s the reason for all the lush, green around the area. The mountains are close, and there’s good skiing and other snow sports in the winter, and hiking and camping in the summer. The city is on the water, meaning a booming maritime economy and a a lifestyle that can be centered around living and playing on the water.

The city has a flourishing, and growing arts community, with lots of options for music, theater, and visual arts, both mainstream and quirky. We’ve got sports — professional, semi-pro, and amateur.

And if that’s not enough — we’re polite!

Does this sound like a place you’d like to live? While neighbors may be jumping all over me for encouraging people to move to our area, the reality is that this is a heck of a nice place to be.

If you’re looking a Seattle urban living, you may want to take in the Greater Seattle Condo Expo this weekend, and explore some of the in-city neighborhoods, connect with real estate professionals, learn about our urban housing market and condominimiums and lofts available in the area. Like most trade shows, the Expo will feature a line up of speakers on topics about the local real estate market and on a variety of urban living topics.

Location: Westin Hotel, 1900 5th Avenue (downtown)

Date & Time: May 19-20th. Saturday, noon - 5 pm; Sunday 10 am - 5 pm.

Tickets: $10 in advance, $15 at the door. Available here. Tickets are good for both days, when presented with a wrist band. I have talked with some realtor friends, and most of them have said that they are buying tickets to distribute to clients that they are working with. You may want to contact a realtor for more info.

Parking: Valet parking is available at the hotel, self-park at the Westin Garage, and there are a variety of pay lots nearby. Street parking is available, although limited.
