Carnival of Cities - April 2nd - Hosted by The Seattle Traveler
Welcome to the April 2, 2007 edition of Carnival of Cities. It was my pleasure to host the carnival here at The Seattle Traveler this week, and it’s been a lot of fun. Of course, with great writers like we have here, it’s also easy!
If you’d like to host a future carnival, send an email and offer up your services.
Here are this week’s contributions:
- Jeanne presents Flamenco in Sevilla posted at SoulTravelers3, saying, “We are a family on a very slow trip around the world and have spent the last 7 months in Europe. This entry was about a recent visit to Seville and the wonderful flamenco that we saw there.” There’s passion in her writing as well as the music.
- Carole Lane presents The California Surf Museum is Hitting a Swell posted at The San Diego Beat, saying, “Come for a tour of the California Surf Museum, currently featuring the first-ever exhibit of famed photographer Tom Keck.” What could be more quintessentially Californian!
- Jon Rochetti presents White House Spring Garden Tours posted at The DC Traveler, saying, “The Annual White House Spring Garden Tour in Washington, DC will be offered April 21st and 22nd.” You’ve probably seen photos, and now you can see the gardens in person.
- Steve Madsen presents Five Favs - Brisbane, Australia posted at Exit Row Seat, saying, “Brisbane is great city for your next Australian vacation.” Steve certainaly makes a good case for it.
- Cascadia Girl presents The Arboretum posted at Seattle Song. and I agree with her —it’s a great place to spend a spring day.
- Colin Campbell presents Adelaide Cup Holiday Weekend posted at Adelaide Green Porridge Cafe, saying, “A weekend of Family Events in Adelaide” It’s not just here in the US that we don’t always remember the orginial purpose of a three day holiday weekend.
- Deepak Jeswal presents Agra Snapshot posted at Random Expressions, and after reading his post, I don’t think I ever want to drive in Agra.
- Toby Boyce presents Delaware County Named 13th Fastest Growing in Nation posted at Sadie’s Take, saying, “An antique bridge in rural Delaware, Ohio has become a battling-point for old vs. new in the 13th fastest growing county.” It sounds like this small town is growing up.
- Silicon Valley Blogger presents The End Of The California Housing Bubble posted at The Digerati Life, saying, “Being a finance blogger, I tend to write about local real estate: we’re in Silicon Valley, CA. Unfortunately travel and finance are all too closely related.
And finally, my entry in the Carnival is from my other travel blog:
- Mary Jo Manzanares presents Philadelphia Freedom: The Liberty Bell Center posted at Flyaway Cafe, saying, “It traveled the country before returning to its permanent home in Philadelphia”
That concludes this edition, and I want to send out a big thank you to all the participating bloggers.

Thanks for including me. I lived in Seattle in the mid eighties. I have been back a number of times and the city has changed a lot.

Colin —
Thanks for taking time to come by and comment. You really should see Seattle today. It’s changed so much in the last 20 years — some for the better, some, well. . . not so much.
I’ve lived here all my life, though, and it’s still home.
Hope to see you in the comments here again sometime!
