Carnival of Cities Celebrates Octoberfest

Carnival of Cities This week the Carnival of Cities celebrated Octoberfest, with a round up of information and stories from cities. . . and countries from around the world.

My favorite post this week was from The DC Traveler, about the Lincoln Memorial This has always been one of my favorite memorials in DC, and I’ve always found it particularly moving to stand and read the Gettysburg Address inside the monument.  It just fills me with a sense of history and awe.  Besides, it feels like Lincoln is watching me as I walk up the all of the steps to the top.  The monument is also especially beautiful at night.

My contribution to this week’s Carnival of Cities was about Chuckanut Drive between Burlington and Bellingham.
