Find Out Whodunit at Seattle Mystery Book Store

I love a good bookstore. So many great books on the shelves, calling out to be picked up and fondled, thumbed through, a decision made about whether THIS should be the one that you buy and take home with you.
Seattle Mystery Books is one of my favorite area bookstores. Located in the Pioneer Square area, […]

Walk With Dinosaurs this Summer

The Tacoma Dome will become a summertime Jurassic Park, with “Walking with Dinosaurs — The Live Experience.”

Walking with Dinosaurs is based on the BBC documentary series of the same name, and is both scientifically accurate, educational, and entertaining as it takes you back a couple hundred million years ago the the Triassic Period. […]

The 2007 Seattle Poetry Festival, will be held April 20th - 22nd, at three Seattle-area venues, with the theme “Practice Safe Poetry.”  These aren’t your father’s limericks or your sweetheart’s love sonnets, rather the festival is an irreverent and playful three-day biennial celebration of all types of poetry, with over 100 poets, musicians, dancers, visual […]

Reminder: Take The Seattle Traveler’s March Poll

I’ve spent the last few days checking out some new things to do here in the Seattle area.
As we creep closer and closer to Spring, I get more and more excited about the rainy days decreasing, and being able to enjoy the wonderful outdoor activities that are available.
To help me get some ideas about what […]

Penn Cove Mussel Festival — Yummmmmm!

If you’re a seafood lover, mark the weekend of March 3rd-4th on your calendar, and plan to attend the Penn Cove Mussel Festival in Coupeville.
These deliciously sweet, black-shelled morsels are native to the waters of Washington.  Prepared simply (steamed with white wine and herbs) or tossed with a hearty pasta sauce, it makes my mouth […]

Photo Op: Floating Bridges Across Lake Washington

Details:  There are several ways to get from Seattle to Bellevue and the East Side (of Lake Washington).
You can drive around Lake Washington to the north through Bothell.  You can drive around to the south through Renton.  Or, you can take on the floating bridges (I-90 or 520) and drive directly across.

Update: Seattle Power Outage

The repair and clean up from last week’s Seattle windstorm continues.
Most Seattle hotels, businesses and attractions are now open for business.  Air travel has resumed its normal hectic holiday state.
I’m one of the lucky ones who have had power restored to my home.  Others will have to wait a few more days.
If you’re in Seattle, […]

Remlinger Farms Pumpkin Harvest Festival

The month of October is Fall Pumpkin Harvest Festival at Remlinger Farms.
In 1965, Gary and Bonnie Remlinger opened a roadside produce stand.  They were farming folk, and this was the beginning of their business venture.  From those humble beginning, the family continued to add on the freshest local fruits and vegetables available, gradually growing the […]
