Celebrate the Weekend at Northwest Folklife Festival

by Mary Jo on May 23rd, 2008

Northwest Folklife Festival It’s Memorial Day Weekend, and the big event around here is the Northwest Folklife Festival.  It’s the annual kick off to our summer season.

You’ll find lots of local artists and musicians, banding together for a multi-cultural party that embraces music, dance, visual arts, children’s activities, workshops, crafts, food, and lots, lots more.  It’s a great opportunity to participate in new activities as well as just do a little people watching.

The list of performance and activities is too great to list here, but you can check out the full schedule, and then print out the day’s events that are of interest to you.

Location: Seattle Center

Dates & Times: Memorial Weekend, May 23rd-26th, 11 am - 11 pm.  Rain or Shine!

Admission: FREE, although a suggested donation of $10/person or $20/family is requested to help defray expenses. Parking will be difficult, with some street parking and pay lots in the area. Consider a ride share or public transportation.

Celebrate the rich diversity and culture of the Seattle area with a day at Northwest Folk Life.
