Dirty Dancing: 20th Anniversary Screening
Some movies stand the test of time, and Dirty Dancing appears to be one of them. Twenty years after its release, this coming of age movie, is celebrating with an anniversary party, which includes an opportunity to once again see Johnny and Baby on the big screen.
With stars Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey, as Johnny and Baby, Dirty Dancing explores the end of teenage innocence in a rapidly changing world. Set in the 60’s, at a summer camp in the Catskills, naive and sheltered Baby learns about life outside her own wealthy family, and ultimately has to choose the values that reflect who she is. The memorable line “No one puts Baby in a corner,” refers to more than just dancing, it refers to a young woman starting to realize her own mind. The movie won an Academy Award for Best Music Original Song with “(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life.”
Location: Regal Parkway Plaza 12, 5910 South 180th Street, Tukwila (south of Southcenter Shopping Mall).
Date & Time: May 1st - 2nd at 7 pm.
Tickets: Available at the theater, or in advance through Fandango.
Yes, this may be primarily a chick flick, but it’s also a good date movie.
