Fashion Seattle-Style

One of the truly unanswered questions about travel is what to pack.

There’s no denying that what I’d pack for a weekend in New York City is different from  what I’d pack for Los Angeles.  And certainly, Atlanta requires different attire than Denver.  Seattle also has its signature fashion, and here it can vary from neighborhood to neighborhood.

If you are in a quandary about what to pack for a Seattle visit, you can check out Pike/Pine, a local Seattle blog that looks at real fashion worn by real people on real Seattle streets.  The blog offers photos, fashion commentary, and best of all – it’s all real stuff, not runway fashion.

Jasmine Park, Seattle’s street fashion blogger, offers up the following observations about Seattle fashion:

• Belltown denizens dress more European
• Capital Hill residents sport more local designers
• Ballard dwellers adopt a more natural fashion

If you’re still not sure what to pack for you Seattle visit, take a look at the fashion residents featured on Pike/Pine.  With a little luck, you’ll never be caught dressed like a tourist again.
