Hot August Nights with the Carnival of Cities
If you’re not familiar with the Carnival of Cities, you should become so. It’s a good way to learn about what’s going on in other cities around the world.
Each week, destination bloggers submit posts in an effort to share a little bit about their corner of the world. I’m always curious about what’s going in other places. It’s entertaining, educational, and usually good for a bit of a laugh.
This week’s Carnival of Cities was hosted by Sheila at Home Turf Media. You can click over to read them all. There were lots of participants this week, so it took me awhile to get through them.
My favorite post this week is from Jul at This non-American Life, with her post, Fondling Food in the Darkness about a Swiss restaurant where you eat in the dark. I mean, totally in the dark. You order before being led to your table, but once you enter the restaurant itself, you eat and converse in the dark. I’m not sure why anyone who want to do this, but it certainly got my curiosity factor up.
My contribution to this week’s carnival was my post about A Kubrick Film Festival.

Aaaw, thanks for the mention, Mary Jo! :) Dining in the dark is certainly not something I want to do on a regular basis, but it makes for a great one-time experience.

Hi Jul.
I’ll be traveling in Paris this coming week, and saw that there are a couple restaurants that do this same experience. Not sure if I’m up to it, but your post has me curious.
