Husky Football Kicks Off this Weekend

Fall means it time for back to school, shorter daylight hours, leaves starting to turn. . . and Husky Football!

The University of Washington Huskies kick off their 2008 schedule this weekend, with a game against the University of Oregon Ducks in Eugene.

The opening home game is September 6th, when BYU Cougars arrive in town.

Tickets are available for most games, but are always hard to come by.  So if you want to be in Husky Stadium, best be making your ticket purchases sooner rather than later.

Here’s the home schedule:

• September 6th – BYU, kick off at 12 noon
• September 13th – Oklahoma, kick off at 4:45 pm (this game may already be a sell out, so if you’re determined to be there, your best option is to find a ticket broker or become best friends with a season ticket holder)
• September 27th – Stanford, kick off time to be announced
• October 18th – Oregon State, kick off at 4 pm, for the Homecoming Game
• October 25th – Notre Dame, kick off at 5 pm (this may be another sold out game)
• November 8th – Arizona State, kick off time to be announced
• November 15th – UCLA, kick off time to be announced

And while it’s not a home game, no schedule is complete without reference to the cross state rivalry between the University of Washington and Washington State University.  This year’s Apple Cup will be November 22nd in Martin Stadium in Pullman.

For all of you who are a little rusty on your game etiquette, may I suggest you brush up on the words to the Husky fight song — Bow Down to Washington:
