I-5 Lanes & Ramps Reopen

The major part of the I-5 construction has now been completed, and with all lanes and ramps open once again, drivers can once again jam the freeway.

Construction crews finished up the project five days ahead of schedule.  Remaining construction work in the downtown area involves some re-paving and finishing work on both north and southbound lanes.  This work will be done in the overnight hours, keeping the impact to traffic at a minimum.  Completion date for this work is early November.

While it would be wonderful to think that Seattle area drivers will continue some of the public transportation options discovered over the last couple weeks, I expect traffic to be especially heavy on Monday morning.
