If You’ve Been Drinking, Let Anna Take You Home
Drinking and New Year’s Eve just see to go hand in hand, but that doesn’t mean you should get behind the wheel of a car!
There are several options – get a hotel room and walk to your events (that’s what I’m doing), select a reliable designated driver, book a limo for the evening, or arrange for a taxi or town car to fetch you and take you home. With one of these choices, there’s no reason to say no to another glass of champagne at midnight.
However, despite the best laid plans, things can go wrong. And that’s when having a back up plan can keep things from going horribly wrong.
The Anna Armstrong White Foundation created Anna’s Ride Home as a back up plan that will help people get home safely. Although it’s only available through a limited number of partner bars and clubs, the free cab voucher program has been in operation since 2003.
Take a look at this list and see if your establishment of choice is on the list. If it’s not, ask them why not! It just makes good sense, for everyone — the bar, the patron, and the rest of the community.

Great idea! We need this in the area where I live. One of the Cardinal’s pitchers was killed after leaving a drinking establishment. He needed Anna!
