Immerse Yourself in the Seattle Opera
The Seattle Opera has announced its 2008-09 Season:
- Aida, August 2 - 23, 2008
- Elektra, October 18 - November 1, 2008 (seen in photo at right)
- The Pearl Fishers - January 10 - 24, 2009
- Bluebeard’s Castle - February 21 - March 7, 2009
- The Marriage of Figaro - May 2 - 16
I confess that I’m not much of an opera buff. Oh sure, some Three Tenors now and again is fine, as is Andrea Bocelli, but much beyond that, I don’t really have the appreciation for the music or the theater of it all. One day I’ll take the time to study up on it a little bit, because, like most things in life that I don’t understand, the reason I’m not fond of it is because I haven’t taken the time to understand it.
The Seattle Opera has an excellent reputation, attracting talent and fans from around the country.
Tickets for the season are now on sale, starting at $197.

1 opinion for Immerse Yourself in the Seattle Opera

The Three Tenors were like my only exposure to opera for a long time, but I’ve discovered performances by the Canadian Opera Company and that’s allowed me to warm up slightly to opera. I still think of it as an acquired taste, but some of the performances are still really good.
