It Can’t be Christmas Without Handel’s Messiah
It can’t be Christmastime without a performance of Handel’s Messiah.
Although originally written for Easter services, Messiah has become more closely identified with the Christmas season. Written in 1741, it is undoubtedly the best-known choral work in the English language. It’s inspired music, and message of hope, features the famed “Hallelujah Chorus” and the spectacular solo “The Trumpet Shall Sound.”
This year you can hear Messiah performed by the Tudor Choir and the Seattle Baroque Orchestra at Town Hall.
Location: Great Hall at Seattle’s Town Hall, 8th & Seneca (map it).
Date & Time: Saturday, December 22nd, 7pm
Tickets: $20 adults, $17 seniors and students, available for purchase online. $23/$20 at the door.
Parking: Available at the Convention Center for $6 (after 5 pm), with voucher available at Town Hall. There is also a pay lot immediate adjacent to Town Hall (on 7th Avenue), as well as additional pay lots in the general area.
