January at the Paramount
If you’re looking for an evening of entertainment this month, The Paramount offers up a wide variety of choices.
Take a look:
January 12th – The Magician, 7 pm. A showing of this 1926 silent movie based on a novel by Somerset Maugham. The Paramount’s Wurlitzer organ provides accompanying music. Tickets $12.
January 15th – Martin Luther King Jr.Celebration, noon. Entertainment and awards honoring local residents whose life and work has been about Breaking Barriers. Free.
January 17th – O.A.R., 8 pm. Of a Revolution tours again, with their music finding broader appeal than just college campuses. Tickets $27 in advance, $29.50 day of show.
January 18th - Divine Performing Arts Chinese New Year Spectacular, 2 pm and 7 pm. Classical Chinese dance and elaborate costumes set to a driving drum beat. Tickets $35=105.
January 19th – The Bells, 7 pm. Another in the silent movie series, this one involving murder. Ticket $12.
January 20th - Inauguration Celebration, 7 am. If you can’t be in the “other” Washington, celebrate the changing of administration in “our” Washington. FREE.
January 22nd - An Evening with Garrison Keillor, 8 pm. From Lake Wobegon to Seattle, this humorist continues to charm audiences. Tickets $37.50-72.50.
January 24th – Video Games, 8 pm. An immersive concert featuring music from the best video games around, along with video footage, synchronized lighting, electronic percussion and live action. Special pre and post-function events, too. Tickets $25-65.
