Photo Op: Opening Day for the New Tacoma Narrows Bridge
Details: The new Tacoma Narrows Bridge opened last weekend amid lots of festivities. Opening Day events went off without a hitch, and runners (in photo), walkers, and drivers alike crossed over the bridge for the very first time.
All reports indicate that drivers have found the new toll and payment system to be working smooth. Granted, it’s only been a week, but it looks the new bridge is off to a great start.

Check out the link that Jay provided for the time lapse video. It shows the bridge, and the day’s festivities, from sun up to sun down. His website also has some other time lapse videos of the building of the bridge. Fun!
