Photo Op: Seattle’s Safeco Field
Photo of the Safeco Field sign in the outfield at the Seattle Mariners ballpark.
Affectionateley called “The Safe” this is the home of the Seattle Mariners Major League Baseball team. The staium has a retractable roof with a train line running under it when it is open, and seats 46,621 for baseball. ITrain whistles are frequently heard during games. Safeco Feild was the host 2001 MLB All-Star Game.
Safeco Field is located in the SoDo district (South of Dome) in downtown Seattle, at the intersection of First Avenue South and Edgar Martinez Drive South (named for the beloved former Mariner designated hitter). The corner is usually just referred to as First & Edgar.
