Seattle Clock Walk on Televison & Video
If you were interested my previous post about the Seattle Clock Walk, but weren’t interested in Seattle. . .outdoors. . .when it’s cold and rainy, here’s a chance to catch a glimpse of 27 public clocks in the downtown area without ever leaving the house.
John Z Wetmore, an independent documentary film producer, has let me know that the Seattle Clock Walk will be broadcast on satellite TV on Tuesday, February 20th on the DISH Network. It’s part of Episode 98, filmed in 2004, of “Perils for Pedestrians.” The DISH Network broadcast is on Channel 9411 (The Universityhouse Channel) at 6:30 pm Pacific Time. You may also find “Perils for Pedestrians” on the local access channel for your neighborhood.
The episode is also available for viewing on Google Video. The streaming is a little choppy, so watching it this way will require a little patience. The Clock Walk is the last segment on the video, and starts around 25 minutes into the program. It’s a nice interview with Rob Ketcherside, the creator of the Seattle Clock Walk, and gives you a quick peek at some of the public clocks in the city.
The Clock Walk starts in the International District, ends in Belltown, and takes about an hour and a half. With weather like we’re having today, it won’t be long before you can get outside and enjoy the activity. Punxsutawney Phil must be right – it feels like Spring is just around the corner.
