Seattle Green Drinks
I’ve been reading a lot about “green” issues lately: global warming, eco-friendly travel, sustainable resources, etc., and decided to see what my city has to offer in this area.
One of the cleverly titled events that I found was Green Drinks.
Green Drinks Seattle is part of a larger international organization, with chapters in cities around the world. On a monthly basis, there are meet ups for people working in the environmental field as well as people who are interested in networking and learning more about green issues.
These green folks aren’t stiff and stuffy! The meet ups are generally a happy hour type of event, with lots of laughs and good-natured discussions. It’s an informal, unstructured, ever-changing crowd, all based around the green theme.
Seattle Green Drinks gather on the second Tuesday of every month, starting at around 5:30 pm. Their stated goal: good times shared among people working in, or interested in, environmental and sustainability issues.
The next Seattle Green Drinks event will be an early Saint Patrick’s Day celebration, hosted by Global Energy Concepts. A green celebration of a green holiday! Green Drinks ask that you participate in the St. Patrick’s frivolity by sporting some green attire.
Date & Time: Tuesday, March 13th (and the second Tuesday of every month), starting between 5:30-6:00 pm
Location: Form/Space Atelier Art Gallery, 1907 Second Avenue (Belltown)
More information: Call (206) 387-4266, or email: scheerg@u.washington.edu
A listing of other Green Drinks groups that meet in the greater Seattle area can be found on the main Green Drinks website. They include: Olympia (meets the first Wednesday of each month), and Seattle-Eastside.
