Seattle Symphony Performs Handel’s Messiah

The Seattle Symphony, conducted by Gerard Schwarz, will perform Handel’s Messiah in performances December 14-17th at Benaroya Hall.

Although originally written for Easter services, Messiah has become more closely identified with the Christmas season.  Written in 1741, it is undoubtedly the best-known choral work in the English language.  It’s inspired music, and message of hope, features the famed “Hallelujah Chorus” and the spectacular solo “The Trumpet Shall Sound.”

Performing with the symphony and the Seattle Symphony Chorale are featured vocalists:

Twyla Robinson, soprano
Anna Buford, mezzo-soprano
Vale Rideout, tenor
Richard Zeller, baritone

Location:  Benaroya Hall, 200 University Street, downtown.

Dates and Times:  December 14th at 7:30 pm, December 15th at 8 pm, December 16th at 1 pm and 8 pm, December 17th at 2 pm.

Tickets:  $49-68, depending on performance.  Available through the symphony online, by calling the symphony box office at (206) 215-4747, or through Ticketmaster.
