Spend Memorial Weekend at the Northwest Folklife Festival
The Northwest Folklife Festival has been a part of Seattle’s Memorial Day Weekend festivities for 36 years, and has been the one of our annual rites of passage into the summer season.
Pacific Northwest artists and musicians band together to create an ethnic party that embracing music, dance, visual arts, children’s activities, workshops, crafts, food, and a whole lot more. There are lots of interactive activities and chances to learn and share new activities, as well as opportunities to just relax and people watch.
The activities and schedule is far too complicated to list here, so your best bet is to go the the website and browse the schedule, then print out the day’s events that interest you.
Location: Seattle Center
Dates & Times: Memorial Weekend, May 25-28th, 11 am - 11 pm.
Admission: FREE, although a suggested donation of $10/person or $20/family is requested to help defray expenses. Parking will be difficult, with some street parking and pay lots in the area. A shuttle run every day between the Northgate park and ride and the Seattle Center for $2 each way.
Celebrate the rich diversity and culture of the Seattle area with a day at Northwest Folk Life. The Festival will go on, rain or shine. If you can’t make it into the city, you can listen to the streaming audio.
