Tacoma Farmers Market Every Thursday
The Pike Place Market gets lots of well-deserved attention, but there are other farmers markets around the area that shouldn’t be missed.
Tacoma, our neighbor to the south has the weekly Tacoma Farmers Market that features over 80 booths of local vendors. Vendor participation is highly regulated, and the emphasis is on locally grown and made products, offered at comparable market prices. You can check the weekly availability sheet to track when your favorite fruit will be ready to eat, as well as keep track of what’s available and when it’s available.
What this means is that you can buy really great fresh products for a reasonable price — what could be better than that! And remember, every dollar that you spend at the Tacoma Farmers Market goes right back into our larger community, appealing to the socially conscious among us.
And what would a farmers market be without entertainment and special events? You can find a schedule of special events here.
Location: Broadway, between 9th & 11th, Downtown Tacoma
Date & Time: Thursdays, May 15th - October 16th, 2008, 9 am - 2 pm
The market is very handy for those working in downtown Tacoma, just pop down on your lunch hour or a break and pick up something for dinner.
