There’s No Place Like Home/Seattle

There’s No Place Like Home/Seattle

Sometimes you have to leave Seattle before you can really appreciate it.
I’m just home from spending the better part of five days in Las Vegas.  I had a great time learning lots of new stuff at BlogWorld Expo, and meeting and re-meeting lots of friends.
Still, as Dorothy said in the Wizard of Oz, “there’s no place like home.”
More Seattle news, tips, ideas and suggestions to come just as soon as I’m all caught up!

Las Vegas & BlogWorld Expo

Las Vegas & BlogWorld Expo

I’m just finishing up a few last minutes things around here, and getting ready to head off to Las Vegas to visit and play with some of my blogging friends and attend BlogWorld Expo.

This event is one of the premiere gatherings of the blogging industry – and the attendees are a veritable Who’s Who of new media.  The trade show floor is packed full of the latest and greatest tools in the industry, and the educational sessions are packed full of tips and ideas.
I can’t wait to meet up with some friends that I haven’t seen for so long!  Plus, …read more

Adventure comes to Seattle this month in the form of the Adventure Travel Expo.
I’ve been to this expo before, and I was very excited that this year its making an appearance here on my home turf of Seattle.
The Expo will feature a great trade show, full of booths and displays about all sorts of adventures – from the mildly adventurous to the very daring.  Whether you define adventure as visiting a foreign city, climbing a mountain, traveling by yourself, or somewhere in between, you’ll find something here to pique your interest.
There will also be a lot of great educational …read more

Discount Available at Not a Number Cards & Gifts

Discount Available at Not a Number Cards & Gifts

Last week I wrote about Not a Number Cards & Gift in Wallingford.  At Not a number, they don’t treat customers as a number, but their owners and managers think of themselves in those terms.
A very generous Number Six, co-owner of the store, has offered all readers of The Seattle Traveler a discount.
Straight from the mouth of Number Six, as noted in the comments to the post:
Mention this posting and get 10% off any purchase!

So take a look at the post once again, and head off to Wallingford and Not a Number for some fun shopping.
Thanks Number Six!

Enjoy Labor Day!

Enjoy Labor Day!

If you’re not at Bumbershoot, or PAX, there are still lots of ways to celebrate Labor Day, the last holiday weekend of the summer.
The weather is a bit of a mixed bag, but it’s still a great day to head to the Market and pick up fixings for a barbecue.  Or head over to Alki and enjoy the water.  Or pack up a picnic and head to one of the many parks in the city.
Let labor wait for another day – enjoy the end of summer!
