Check Out this Week’s Carnival of Cities

Another week, and I’m proud to have participated in the Carnival of Cities, a weekly listing of some of the best city blogging you’ll find around the web.
This week’s Carnival was hosted by CatSynth.com, so you’ll want to head over to read the full list of blog posts.  You’ll also want to browse through and look at some great cat photos, too!
It was hard to decide on a favorite post for the week because there were some many interesting, well written articles.  I’ve added a lot of new ideas to my travel to-do list.  But I finally decided …read more

Carnival of Cities: Cities to Love Besides Seattle

Carnival of Cities: Cities to Love Besides Seattle

It’s been another week of great information from city bloggers around the world.  I’m a little behind in reading all the posts and devouring all the great information, but cannot let the week go by without a very big thank you to Living the Scientific Life for hosting this week’s carnival.
There were a lot of posts that captured my attention this week, and perhaps appealed to the wanderlust currently running through my veins, but I selected 7 Reasons to Visit Bruges as my favorite.  As if architecture, art and history doesn’t give you enough reason to visit, Caitlin tempts …read more

Carnival of Cities Explained & Enjoyed

Carnival of Cities Explained & Enjoyed

One of the enjoyable things that I get to do as a city blogger, is to explore and discover things about Seattle and the surrounding area and then share my discovery with you.  I have a fascination with my city, and hope that I can convey that to you.
One of the other enjoyable things that I get to do is meet, mingle, and read about other cities through relationships with other city bloggers.  They are as enthusiastic about their cities as I am about my mine.
Many of us get together weekly to share stories about our cities in a …read more

Carnival of Cities & Trieste, Italy

Carnival of Cities & Trieste, Italy

This week’s Carnival of Cities was hosted by Sheila at Family Travel, and it features an eclectic assortments of posts from around the world.
My favorite this week was Trieste – Italian home of cafe society posted by Karen at Europe a la Carte Blog.  And not just because I’ll be in Italy next month!
While Trieste is not on my travel itinerary while I’m in Europe (it’s in the northeast near Slovenia and I’ll be in Rome and then the southwest), the city sounds like a wonderful place to visit on a return trip.  It’s got culture, society, history, city …read more

Traveling with the Carnival of Cities

Traveling with the Carnival of Cities

Another week of interesting posts about cities around the world with The Carnival of Cities.
My favorite contribution to the carnival this week was Amsterdam Attractions Under Attack.  Apparently, some of the adult attractions of the gateway city are making the city less risque and more family friendly.  If sex, drugs, and rock and roll are your passion, you’ll want to get to Amsterdam before these vices are gone.
And after you’re done reading about Amsterdam, click on over to Traveling Mamas, and read all the rest of this week’s posts.
My contribution to the Carnival was the post on Tom Douglas.  …read more

Carnival of Cities Goes to Dubai

Carnival of Cities Goes to Dubai

I’ve been absent from the Carnival of Cities for a few weeks, and was glad to get back into the swing of things with this week’s Carnival, hosted by Grace at Sandier Pastures.  Grace writes about life in Dubai, and I always find her stories about life in the Emirates immensely entertaining.
My favorite city post this week was from Sheila at Family Travel, “Guaranteed Florida Manatee Sightings.”  It turns out that we’re in prime manatee season, and the articles give you lots of options on ways to see these mysterious creatures.
My contribution to the Carnival was my post, Top …read more

Seattle Welcomes the Carnival of Cities

Seattle Welcomes the Carnival of Cities

Welcome to the December 10th, 2007 edition of the Carnival of Cities.
I’m very pleased to welcome these wonderful bloggers from around the world to my home town of Seattle.  And now, I invite you to take a little time to get to know them, as they, in turn, get to know Seattle.
From the Americas:

JenWriter presents Top Ten Things I Love About New York City posted at Small Town City Girl.  It’s amazing how she captured the essence of the Big Apple a list of ten.
Marilyn Terrell presents Sherpa in the City posted at Intelligent Travel, saying, “Which city has …read more

Better Late than Never to the Carnival of Cities

Better Late than Never to the Carnival of Cities

After spending four days in Las Vegas attending Blog World Expo and hanging out with with my b5media buddies, I’m finally home and able to catch up on some of my blog reading.
I’ve got lots of catching up to do, but one of the first places that I stopped for reading was at Argentina’s Travel Guide to read this week’s Carnival of Cities, in its return to Buenos Aires.
It may have taken me several days to get to the Carnival, but I’m glad that I did, finding lots of fun, interesting reads.
This weeks’s favorite was from Sheila at Perceptive …read more

Carnival of Cities Digerati Edition

Carnival of Cities Digerati Edition

This week’s Carnival of Cities round up comes from Silicon Valley and The Digerati Life.
I enjoy reading these posts every week, both because I enjoy reading what other travel bloggers have to say, and because I learn something in the process.
My favorite post this week was from fellow b5media blogger Jon, at The DC Traveler.  His post about the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial touched an emotional chord with me.
Every May there are services where the names of officers killed in the line of duty are added to the memorial.  I have officers and families on my flights who …read more

Carnival of Cities with Old Friends & New

Carnival of Cities with Old Friends & New

Another week spent with old friends and new and the Carnival of Cities.  This week’s edition was hosted by Anthony at The Lives and Times.
If you take a read through this week’s participants, you’ll find a variety of topics covered, all of them related to some aspect of a particular city.
In keeping with my tradition — and I love to set my own traditions – I choose my favorite every week.  As a life long resident of Seattle, I’m pretty proud of this city.  But I love reading bloggers who are just as proud of their city.
This week, my favorite …read more
