While I’m traveling in Italy, here’s a suggestion of how you can have a little taste of what I’m enjoying — without having to leave Seattle.  Check out one of the two locations of locally owned Via Tribunali.

“Fire Season” at Bluebottle Art thru January 30th

As cold as it’s been in Seattle lately, here’s a chance to warm up at “Fire Season” by Paul Chatem, now on exhibit through the end of January at Bluebottle Art Galley.
 
Chatem combines painting with his story telling ability, interweaving multiple characters and story lines, with the occasional plot twist, into a series of paintings.  In “Fire Season,” Chatem depicts the dangerous and destructive forest fires of his Southern California home.  He actually painted this series while the fire ravaged outside his home.  You can see other work by Chatem here.
