It was hard to decide on a favorite post for the week because there were some many interesting, well written articles.  I’ve added a lot of new ideas to my travel to-do list.  But I finally decided on Graffiti Tourism in Bristol, posted by Heather at Heather on Her Travels.

Heather’s posts covers the explosion of street art in the Bristol area with some great photos.  Some of it seems like typical city graffiti, but there are some that look like works of art.  There’s humorous paintings, fine art, commercial, silly, and a whole lot more.  I encourage you to go read her post and take a look at the photos.

One of the other enjoyable things that I get to do is meet, mingle, and read about other cities through relationships with other city bloggers.  They are as enthusiastic about their cities as I am about my mine.

Many of us get together weekly to share stories about our cities in a Blog Carnival called the Carnival of Cities.  It’s a round up of blogs posts about a topic we found fascinating about our city or some city that we’ve visited.  I try to be a regular participant in the Carnival of Cities, both because I get to share so much and learn so much.

This week’s Carnival of Cities is hosted by Sheila at Perceptive Travel.  After reading the carnival posts each week, I like to talk about my favorite post here.  It’s a way of sharing a little slice of another city with you.

My favorite carnival post this week is Do Henry Vilas Zoo Animals Mock Me?  The post, written by Kekoa at The Byteful Project, is about the zoo in Madison, Wisconsin.  I love zoos, and would bet that I’d love the Henry Vilas Zoo.  I’d loved the explanation, and the photo supporting it, that the polar bears were sticking out their tongues at visitors!  Head on over to take a read — I think you’ll enjoy it as much as I did!

My favorite this week was Trieste – Italian home of cafe society posted by Karen at Europe a la Carte Blog.  And not just because I’ll be in Italy next month!

While Trieste is not on my travel itinerary while I’m in Europe (it’s in the northeast near Slovenia and I’ll be in Rome and then the southwest), the city sounds like a wonderful place to visit on a return trip.  It’s got culture, society, history, city and beach, all in one location.  What more could you want?

My favorite contribution to the carnival this week was Amsterdam Attractions Under Attack.  Apparently, some of the adult attractions of the gateway city are making the city less risque and more family friendly.  If sex, drugs, and rock and roll are your passion, you’ll want to get to Amsterdam before these vices are gone.

• Steve Madsen presents Five Favs – Brisbane, Australia posted at Exit Row Seat, saying, “Brisbane is great city for your next Australian vacation.”  Steve certainaly makes a good case for it.
• Cascadia Girl presents The Arboretum posted at Seattle Song. and I agree with her —it’s a great place to spend a spring day.
• Colin Campbell presents Adelaide Cup Holiday Weekend posted at Adelaide Green Porridge Cafe, saying, “A weekend of Family Events in Adelaide” It’s not just here in the US that we don’t always remember the orginial purpose of a three day holiday weekend.
• Deepak Jeswal presents Agra Snapshot posted at Random Expressions, and after reading his post, I don’t think I ever want to drive in Agra.
• Toby Boyce presents Delaware County Named 13th Fastest Growing in Nation posted at Sadie’s Take, saying, “An antique bridge in rural Delaware, Ohio has become a battling-point for old vs. new in the 13th fastest growing county.” It sounds like this small town is growing up.
• Silicon Valley Blogger presents The End Of The California Housing Bubble posted at The Digerati Life, saying, “Being a finance blogger, I tend to write about local real estate: we’re in Silicon Valley, CA.  Unfortunately travel and finance are all too closely related.
