But – and you knew there was a catch – if you [...]<p>Post from: <a href="http://www.theseattletraveler.com">The Seattle Traveler</a></p> ]]></description> <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><a class="imagelink" title="Seattle's Gay Bingo supports the Lifelong Aids Alliance" href="http://b5media_b4.s3.amazonaws.com/29/files/2007/01/gay-bingo.jpg"><img id="image196" style="width: 248px; height: 231px" height="231" alt="Seattle's Gay Bingo supports the Lifelong Aids Alliance" src="http://b5media_b4.s3.amazonaws.com/29/files/2007/01/gay-bingo.jpg" width="248" align="right" /></a>Seattle is not the kind of place where you need to plan months in advance for things.  Oh sure, there are the big concerts, opening nights, and a few random restaurants where you can’t wait till the last minute.  However, most places in the Seattle area, with a week or so of notice, you’ll be fine.  With less notice, you even stand a good chance of pulling it off at the last minute, with a little patience and determination.  We’re a pretty casual kind of place about advance planning.</p> <p>But – and you knew there was a catch – if you want to have a seriously, uproariously, side splitting good time, you’re going to need to plan for this FAR in advance.</p> <p><a href="http://lifelongaidsalliance.org/whatisgaybingo" target="_blank"><strong>Gay Bingo!</strong></a></p> <p>Huh?  What’s that you say?  Well, 750 people each month can’t all be wrong!</p> <p>Seattle’s Gay Bingo in a fundraiser for the <strong><a href="http://lifelongaidsalliance.org/" target="_blank">Lifelong Aids Alliance</a></strong>, and is now in its 14th year.  It’s held on the second Saturday of each month, and sells out months in advance.  February and March are currently sold out, and April is getting close to it, so this is one event where you need to think ahead. </p> <p>There’s a theme each month, just to help add a little frivolity to the evening.  Although costumes are not required, it is encouraged with prizes for best costumes.  Here are the themes for this season:</p> <ul> <li>Saturday, January 13th – Superhero Gay Bingo</li> <li>Saturday, February 10th – Pirate Gay Bingo</li> <li>Saturday, March 10th – Groovy 70’s Gay Bingo</li> <li>Saturday, April 14th – Art Appreciation Gay Bingo</li> <li>Saturday, May 12th – Come as your Mother Gay Bingo</li> <li>Saturday, June 9th – Rocky Horror Gay Bingo</li> </ul> <p>The host for your evening of Gay Bingo is GLAMAZONIA, a sexy, perhaps a bit naughty, 7’2” drag queen, who is ably assisted by the angelic, Miss Intermission, and the <strong><a href="http://www.theabbey.org/" target="_blank">Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence</a></strong>.  It’s costumes, music, food and beverage, along with actual bingo games and cash prizes.  Seattle area celebrities frequently serve as Bingo callers.</p> <p>If you’re celebrating a special event, consider reserving the <strong><a href="http://lifelongaidsalliance.org/queens" target="_blank">Queens for a Day</a></strong> table.  It’s a popular table for bachelorette parties, and gives you priority seating, snacks, soda, a Cupcake from Cupcake Royale, a gift from <a href="http://www.babeland.com/" target="_blank">Babeland,</a> and a cocktail coupon.  Queen for a Day seating is an additional $10/person.</p> <p>Reservations are required, and you can <a href="http://lifelongaidsalliance.org/gaybingoreg" target="_blank">purchase a table</a> (8 or more people) for a month, or for the entire season, online.  Individual tickets are available at the <a href="http://lifelongaidsalliance.org/thriftstore" target="_blank">Lifelong Thrift Store</a> at 1017 E.
