The Seattle Traveler

I’m a big library fan, and Seattle has a great public library system as do the surrounding cities and counties.
A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to spend an afternoon at the downtown Seattle Central Library (1000 Fourth Avenue , between Spring & Madison and Fourth & Fifth Avenue).  I was waiting for a new passport to be printed up at the Federal Building and I had several hours to kill.  It was rainy and cold and spending an afternoon inside, surrounded by books (and free wifi) seemed like a great idea.

My father passed away quite some time ago. When I graduated from college and law school, I know that he was very proud of my accomplishments. While he didn’t live long enough to know about the internet, let along blogging and blogs, I’d like to think he be proud of of what I’m doing here.

Memorial Day, originally called Decoration Day, is a day of remembrance for those who have died while in service to their country. It is a small way to honor those who gave their lives that we may live in freedom and prosperity

I’ve lived here forever, so perhaps I’m biased. And while I don’t know if I would list Seattle as my very favorite American city, it is a great place to live and it would certainly rank high on my list of favorites.

This week’s Carnival of Cities was hosted by fellow b5media travel and culture blogger, Jon, at The DC Traveler.
