. . .celebrate the Summer Solstice in our own “Center of the Universe” – Fremont!
What would you expect from the funky and friendly neighborhood of Fremont, but a festival that celebrates the very best of what the city has to offer?! It’s a weekend of community – art, spirit, and working together as residents and visitors alike come together to eat and drink, smile and laugh, dance and debate, and enjoy a parade that recognizes the transitioning from spring to summer.
The parade is Saturday at noon, and is a logo-free, non-motorized event. You’ll want to see the Solstice Cyclists – always a crowd favorite. The weekend also features music, and all sorts of special events.
And don’t forget the Besides just having a god time, the Fremont Fair raises awareness and money for the needs of low income people in our community. All donations received the weekend event go to fund programs that provide food, shelter, care and advocacy for this often misunderstood population. Look for the orange donations boxes and drop in a donation. A dollar can make a difference.
Location: Fremont (map it), the “Center of the Universe”
Dates & Times: Saturday & Sunday, June 21st – 22nd. Saturday 10 am – 8 pm; Sunday 11 am – 7 pm. Parade starts Saturday at noon.
Cost: FREE, but please consider making a donation (orange donation boxes at various locations).
